HFA Summer Internship Scholarship 2025

The HFA Summer Internship Scholarship helps students participate in valuable summer internship experiences that have great potential but offer little to no compensation. We are grateful for the generosity of HFA alumni who know how important these experiences are and who have chosen to help make them possible. This is a competitive program. Those who succeed will be pursuing a high-quality internship that is likely to further their academic and professional goals or their career exploration.

Please note, you do not need to have an internship offer in-hand to apply for this scholarship but you need to have submitted applications for the internship(s) you are seeking. The majority of your time at the internship site should be spent on activities that enhance learning and give you substantive experience. It is important for the position to be designed so you receive ongoing feedback and guidance from your internship supervisor. Applications will be evaluated based on a clear and compelling statement describing the relationship between your professional goals or your career exploration and the internship experience. The inclusion of relevant details, the overall quality of your writing, and understandable explanations will enhance your application. Your initiative and commitment to the position should be evident. Please note preference will be given to unpaid internships.

Prior to funding release, we require an official letter of offer with a description of the internship, start and end dates, expected total hours, and supervisor name and contact info. You will also be required to attend a meeting with the HFA Internship advisor to ensure a successful experience.
