Dr. Rachel E. Tierney Nursing Scholarship

Established in 2009 by alumna Dr. Rachel E. Tierney, this fund will endow scholarships for doctoral nursing students. Dr. Tierney is an alumna of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her BS in Nursing in 1962 and MS in psychiatric-mental health nursing in 1974 from the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing; as well as a PhD in health policy and management from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences in 1990.

The purpose of the fund is to endow a scholarship for nursing students pursuing a doctoral degree in Nursing. The individual considered for this scholarship will have completed the equivalent of one full year of doctoral course work and will have interest in one of the following areas: behavioral/mental health, public health or health policy.
